Bakkie Parts Direct Return Policy
Last updated: October 2026
At Bakkie Parts Direct, we aim to supply quality new and used bakkie parts and provide a fair and practical process when a customer experiences a problem with a purchase.
This policy applies to purchases made through our online store or directly from Bakkie Parts Direct and must be read together with any product-specific warranty or guarantee supplied with the part.
Nothing in this policy is intended to exclude or limit any rights that a consumer may have under applicable South African law.
1. Please Confirm the Correct Part Before Ordering
Vehicle parts can differ according to model, year, engine, gearbox, specification and vehicle identification details. Customers are encouraged to confirm compatibility before placing an order.
Where possible, please provide the vehicle make, model, year, engine details, VIN/chassis number, part number and/or a clear photograph of the required part so that our team can assist in identifying the correct component.
2. Incorrectly Ordered or Unwanted Parts
If you ordered the incorrect part or no longer require an item, please contact Bakkie Parts Direct as soon as possible.
Returns of correctly supplied, non-defective goods may be considered subject to the condition of the product, whether it has been fitted or used, the nature of the product, and any rights available to the customer under applicable law.
Goods returned because of a change of mind or an incorrect customer order should, where reasonably possible, be returned in the same condition in which they were supplied, together with the original invoice or proof of purchase.
Any lawful delivery, collection or handling costs applicable to such a return will be communicated to the customer before the return is finalised.
3. Incorrect Part Supplied by Bakkie Parts Direct
If Bakkie Parts Direct supplied a part that differs from the item ordered, please contact us promptly and provide your order number, photographs and details of the item received.
Once verified, we will arrange an appropriate remedy, which may include supplying the correct part, arranging a return or providing another remedy as applicable.
4. Damaged Deliveries
Customers should inspect delivered parcels and products as soon as reasonably possible after receiving them.
If an item appears to have been damaged during transport, please contact us promptly and provide:
- Your order number
- Photographs of the packaging
- Photographs of the damaged item
- A description of the damage
Please retain the packaging until the matter has been assessed, as it may be required for a courier claim.
5. Defective Products
If you believe that a product is defective, please stop using the product where continued use could cause additional damage and contact Bakkie Parts Direct.
The product may need to be returned for inspection or testing before the cause of the problem can be determined.
Where a product is confirmed to be defective and the customer is entitled to a remedy under applicable law or an applicable warranty, Bakkie Parts Direct will provide the appropriate remedy. Depending on the circumstances, this may include repair, replacement, resupply, refund or credit.
6. New and Used Parts
Bakkie Parts Direct sells both new and used automotive parts. Used components may show reasonable cosmetic signs of previous use, storage or removal from a donor vehicle.
Normal cosmetic wear on a used component does not necessarily mean that the component is defective.
Any material condition information known to us and relevant to the sale should be communicated to the customer where applicable.
7. Electrical and Electronic Parts
Electrical and electronic components may require professional diagnosis, installation, coding, calibration or programming.
Customers should confirm that an electrical component is compatible with their vehicle before installation.
Electrical items that have been incorrectly installed, damaged through incorrect wiring, incorrectly programmed, physically damaged or otherwise damaged after supply may not qualify for a return or warranty remedy where the problem was caused by those circumstances.
This does not exclude any statutory rights relating to goods that were defective when supplied.
8. Engines, Gearboxes and Major Mechanical Components
Engines, gearboxes, turbochargers and other major mechanical components may be subject to separate warranty conditions supplied at the time of purchase.
Customers must comply with applicable installation, servicing, programming, oil, coolant and fitment requirements contained in the relevant warranty documentation.
Where professional fitment or a diagnostic report is required under an applicable warranty, the customer may be requested to provide the relevant documentation when submitting a claim.
9. Installation and Labour Costs
Customers are encouraged to have automotive components fitted by a suitably qualified workshop or technician.
Unless required by applicable law or specifically agreed to in writing, Bakkie Parts Direct does not automatically accept responsibility for third-party labour, diagnostic, towing, recovery or installation costs associated with removing or fitting a component.
10. Warranty Stickers, Markings and Identification
Some products may contain Bakkie Parts Direct warranty stickers, security markings, serial numbers or other identification marks.
Please do not remove, alter or tamper with these identifiers during the applicable warranty period unless removal is reasonably required for proper installation and has been authorised by Bakkie Parts Direct.
We may use these identifiers to confirm that a returned component is the same component originally supplied.
11. Proof of Purchase
Please retain your invoice, order confirmation or other acceptable proof of purchase.
When contacting us about a return or warranty matter, please provide your order or invoice number wherever possible.
12. Assessment of Returned Products
A returned component may need to be inspected, diagnosed or tested before a claim can be finalised.
The assessment may consider the condition of the component, installation, compatibility, evidence of misuse or external damage, and whether the reported problem relates to the product itself.
13. Refunds, Replacements, Repairs and Credit
The appropriate remedy will depend on the circumstances of the return, the condition of the product, the applicable warranty and the customer's rights under South African law.
Where applicable, the remedy may include:
- Repair of the product
- Replacement or resupply
- Exchange
- Store credit or credit note where agreed and legally appropriate
- Refund where required or agreed
Where a refund is due, it will be processed using an appropriate method after the return has been approved and any necessary assessment has been completed.
14. Courier and Return Transport
Please contact Bakkie Parts Direct before sending a product back so that we can provide the correct return instructions.
Responsibility for reasonable return transport costs will depend on the reason for the return and applicable consumer law. Where Bakkie Parts Direct supplied incorrect or legally defective goods, the customer's statutory rights will apply.
15. Misuse and External Damage
A warranty or return claim may be declined where, after reasonable assessment, the problem is shown to have resulted from circumstances occurring after supply, such as misuse, accident damage, incorrect installation, unauthorised modification, contamination, overheating, incorrect fluids, incorrect programming or another external cause.
This provision does not remove any rights a customer may have in relation to a defect that existed when the product was supplied.
16. How to Request a Return
To request assistance with a return, exchange or warranty matter, contact us and provide:
- Your name
- Order or invoice number
- Vehicle make and model
- Description of the problem
- Photographs or videos where relevant
- Diagnostic or workshop information where applicable
